TerMS & CONDITIONS

Last updated: 26 September 2026

1. Who we are

Blue Brain Media is a web design and development business based in British Columbia, Canada, operating this website at bluebrainmedia.ca. Throughout these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Blue Brain Media, and “you” means the person or organisation buying or using our software.

2. What these terms cover

These terms apply to this website and to the WordPress plugins we sell — currently Wallet Pass for Amelia and Wallet Pass for Tickera. Client project work (website builds, SEO, ticketing setup and similar services) is covered by the individual proposal or agreement for that project, not by this page.

By buying a licence or using our plugins, you agree to what’s below. If you don’t agree, please don’t buy or use them.

3. What a licence gets you

A paid licence is an annual subscription, currently US$59 per year, and it covers use of the plugin on up to two websites you own or manage.

While your licence is active you get:

  • Automatic updates delivered to your WordPress dashboard
  • Priority email support from us

If your licence lapses, the plugin keeps working. Passes already issued stay valid and new passes keep generating exactly as before. What stops is updates and support, until you renew.

4. Who you’re buying from

Our checkout and licensing are handled by Freemius Inc., which acts as the Merchant of Record for every purchase. That means Freemius processes your payment, handles any applicable sales tax or VAT, issues your invoice, and manages your subscription and licence key. Your card statement will show Freemius rather than Blue Brain Media.

Freemius’s own terms and privacy policy apply to the payment itself, alongside these terms. We never see or store your payment card details.

5. Renewals and cancellation

Licences renew automatically each year at the then-current price, so your updates and support don’t lapse without warning. You can cancel at any time from the licence management link in your purchase email, or by emailing us and asking — we’ll cancel it for you. Cancelling stops future renewals; it doesn’t refund the term you’re already in, except under the refund policy below.

If we change the renewal price, we’ll tell you by email before it applies to you.

6. Refunds — 14 days, no argument

If the plugin isn’t right for your setup, email us within 14 days of your purchase and we’ll refund you in full. You don’t need to justify it. We’d genuinely rather hear what went wrong, but that’s a request, not a condition.

Refunds are issued through Freemius and typically land back on your card within a few business days. After 14 days, we don’t offer refunds on the current term, but you can cancel so you aren’t billed again.

7. The software licence

Our plugins are WordPress plugins licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or later (GPLv3+), which is the licence WordPress itself uses. That licence gives you broad freedom to use, modify and redistribute the code.

What your payment buys, then, is not permission to run the software — GPL already gives you that. It buys a licence key entitling you to updates and support for the term you’ve paid for, delivered automatically through your dashboard.

Please don’t redistribute your licence key or use one key across more sites than it covers. The key is what identifies you to us for updates and support; sharing it isn’t a copyright matter so much as a breach of this agreement, and we may deactivate a key being used outside its terms.

8. What support covers

Support means email help with our plugin — getting it configured, working out why a pass isn’t generating, understanding what a setting does, and fixing bugs in our code. We aim to reply within one business day.

Support doesn’t extend to:

  • Configuring or troubleshooting Amelia, Tickera, WordPress core, your theme or your other plugins
  • Custom development, bespoke pass designs or code written to order
  • Server, hosting or email-deliverability problems on your site
  • Setting up your Apple Developer or Google Cloud accounts on your behalf, which we can’t access and shouldn’t

We’ll always point you in the right direction where we can, even when something falls outside that list.

9. Services you need to supply yourself

Our plugins generate Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes using your own credentials with Apple and Google. You’ll need:

  • For Google Wallet – a Google Cloud project and a Google Wallet API service account
  • For Apple Wallet – a paid Apple Developer Program membership and a Pass Type ID certificate

Those accounts are yours, billed by Apple and Google directly, and subject to their terms. Our documentation walks you through creating both. We can’t obtain them for you, and we aren’t responsible if Apple or Google changes their requirements, pricing, approval process or wallet platforms in a way that affects how passes behave. We do commit to keeping the plugin working against those platforms as they change, for as long as we sell it.

10. The free editions

We also publish free editions of both plugins on WordPress.org. These are Google Wallet only and come with no licence key, no priority support and no guarantee of any kind. They’re supported, when we can, through the WordPress.org support forums. Everything in these terms about warranties and liability applies to the free editions too.

11. Your data

Our plugins run entirely on your own WordPress site. Booking and ticket data used to build a pass stays on your server and goes only to Apple or Google when a pass is created — we never receive it. We don’t collect analytics from your site, and the plugins don’t phone home other than to check your licence and look for updates.

What we do hold is what you give us: your name and email from your purchase, your licence records, and any support correspondence. We use it to provide support, deliver updates and meet our tax obligations, and we don’t sell it or share it with anyone beyond Freemius as our merchant of record. Email us if you want a copy of what we hold, or want it deleted.

12. Fair use

Please don’t use our plugins to issue passes that misrepresent an event or appointment, to impersonate another business, or for anything unlawful. We may deactivate a licence used that way.

13. No warranty

The software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We’ve tested it carefully and we use it ourselves, but we can’t promise it will be free of bugs, or that it will work with every combination of theme, plugin, host and WordPress version in existence. This is the standard disclaimer that accompanies GPL software, and it’s here for the same reason.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these terms or your use of our software is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — in practice, the price of your licence. We aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost revenue, lost bookings, lost data, or damage to your reputation.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability we can’t lawfully limit.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the products change. The “last updated” date above always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects existing customers, we’ll email licence holders rather than leave you to notice it.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and any dispute will be dealt with in the courts of British Columbia.

17. Getting in touch

Email support@bluebrainmedia.ca — for support, refunds, cancellations, licence questions, or anything about these terms. We read everything that arrives there.
